    Clearcut

Got a buddy clear cutting a patch of poplars for me. It's about 1 1/2 acres. He's just doing it with a tractor and chainsaw, no big logging operation here. IMG_2616.JPGIMG_2617.JPG
He said it's running pretty good. Solid and strait timber.
They can't all be turn key.

Looks good Todd. That’s a lot of work. What’s he using for a tractor? Assuming he has a grapple?

Cool! Is he buying the timber? Or just cutting it for you?

Just because it's old, doesn't mean it's obsolete!

I've got a lot of Cubs in the barn....but I have more implements/attachments!

The tractor is a Montana. It's (according to him) a dimestore tractor that was build for only a very short time. 45 hp, and only forks up front.
Yeah Jon, he's cutting, arranging the trucking and sale for us. We're doing it on "shares". He did ours behind the house last winter, and will be doing another when he finishes up here. He's retired, and likes to take on a few little logging jobs each winter.
Nice to have a guy that'll do these small jobs, cause the "big timers" won't mess with it...
