    Can this work?

I found a 2000 series cub on the market, 80 bucks. "Parts mower". It is a shaft drive. Will "parts" such as the motor hook up without major mods? My 1200 needs help, and if it would work, that would make my life SO much easier.
    Any help is appreciated.

The engine likely won't work in a 1200. Not too many engines will go into it without a lot of mods.

    Couple questions:
Specifically, which model of 2000 series tractor?
What is wrong with the engine in the 1200?

Just because it's old, doesn't mean it's obsolete!

I've got a lot of Cubs in the barn....but I have more implements/attachments!

I am not sure of the model. Just a 2000 series.
My 1200 is just tired. 1975 model, untouched as far as I know. The clutch is about to explode and it seams to loose power. I think it needs a carb job.
I am mostly ignorant about small engines. And I have club fingers,,,,
